Coming Soon: Linda Dark

May 14, 2008

With the uploading of the Linda Dark skins… the Linda skin range is about to be complete.

Linda now will be available in 5 skintones: fair, light, sunkissed, fashion tan and dark. As you are used to at PXL Creations, all skintones are modifiable to meet your individual skintone wishes. Also Linda Dark has some different make ups as well, instead of the usual eye/lip combinations. It is an experiment that, if well received, we will expand in our skins to come.

If you are a fashion blogger and you would like the chance to (p)review the completed Linda skin range before we release Linda Dark, please send me -Sunrae Moonbeam- a notecard before Thursday 9 pm SLT with in the subject line: PXL Linda (p)review [full avatar name] [full blogname] and please, include your blog’s URL in the notecard as well. We’ll be happy to send you a selection before we make the release of Linda Dark next Monday.

PXL Photography

April 25, 2008

Tme for a new round of sharing photos from our PXL Creations Photography group on Flickr.

PXL Photography

Kucinta was one of the first to join the group and has made some remarkable photos. This one just struck me… colour, composition and avatar shape, it’s all good! Lovely tattoo btw. More of Kucinta’s work you’ll find here

PXL PHotography

Zoe Demar made this amazing photo. I love it. It is such a clean shot. No fuzzy blurry glammy halo things… just the model, a great composition .. and lovely butterflies. Zoe has more on her stream, it’s worth taking a look.

Last pick this time is by Gabrielle Sinatra. It’s called guilty pleasures… well, it sure looks like it’s been a rough ride. Gabrielle has a pretty impressive stream that I loved spending some time scrolling.

Thanks to all of you who just keep feeding the pool. There are so many amazing photos on it by now that picking gets harder and harder, but please don’t stop.. I love it!

Preview: Linda Dark

April 16, 2008

As promised, Linda, in the darkest skintone, is in the making and will soon be available in the shop. And of course I am biased, but I think she is becoming pretty gorgeous.

Hart had to make quite some adjustments to this version, since a lot of the details in the lighter skintone either became invisible, or too defined in this dark tone. It is still a work in progress, not done quite yet… there will be some adjustments in the make ups as well, and for instance no brown brows with this skin, as it would look odd. Oh well… keep an eye on the blog and on Hart’s Flickr stream for updates in the development process.

New @ PXL Creations: Linda Fair

April 15, 2008

Ladies, for the days you want a lighter skintone… or just because Linda was always too much of a tan girl for you, even with Linda Light in the shop… I have the pleasure of introducing you to Linda Fair. Yes… mirror, mirror on the wall… who is the fairest of them all… well.. she’s here, and as all skins at PXL Creations the skintone is modifiable, so you could even make her a wee bit paler, should you wish to do that.

Next in the pipeline is the darkest skintone for Linda. Like we have Adam Dark, also Linda will have an exotic version. Keep you posted on the ETA.

Case Closed

April 12, 2008

We just wanted to let all of you, who supported us over the last few weeks, know, that we finally have been able to put the situation with the copyright infringement behind. We have reached an agreement with the person that we have filed DMCA against, and she produced a skin that we cannot recognise anymore as our product.

Thank you again for your support and friendship.

PXL Photography

April 10, 2008

Yes, it’s that time again. I have found a moment to sit down and scroll though the entries on our PXL Photography pool on Flickr, and there is much going on there

One of my all time fave photo’s in the stream is this one:

PXL Photography

Cyn is one of our hard core contributors, and her work does really have an identity of it’s own. I can immediately see when she has submited newness to the pool. Thank you Cyn! You just keep surprising me with your art. More of Cyn’s work can be found here

This photo by Cleo Carbetta has been picked to be on display in ETD.  YAY! Congratulations Cleo. Cleo is one of the SL shopping addicts who keeps a very nice blog on her findings, ad her flickr stream reflects that. Cute photography!

PXL Photography

Last one in this round is this sizzling  and sparkling photo by Melodious Source. She has made some of the hottest photos I’ve ever seen, with a delicious touch of humor, and she’s a total PXL skin addict… what more can we wish for… Do check Melodious’ stream… it is so worth it.

Who’s That Girl?

April 8, 2008

This is a work in progress. Isn’t she lovely? OK… I’ll let you in on it, it is the first beta of the update of Cloe. Make-upless, the face -already with the new brows, the more refined lip texture, and the enhanced shading that makes her over all more soft and girly- gives a pretty good idea of how awesome she will be once she’s ready. The body still needs all the work and I really have no idea of the timeline. After all, last time Hart and I discussed the projects, Linda Fair and Linda Dark would come before the update of Cloe… but when Hart dropped this on me by surprise, well… I guess I just had to share it with you… Hart is probably going to throw things at me for doing this… but it would be a shame holding this back.

PS… forgot to mention… did you see the red brows on this beta? yep… black brows, brown brows, and now reds too!

For Comparison’s Sake

April 5, 2008

Well, I promised some comparison material earlier, and after a good breakfast, dito lunch and a power nap, I think it’s time to write and post some.

For a part I will use the exact same material that is used by the person we filed DMCA against. She uses it to make us believe the material is hers, but there are some typical things in the images that, albeit blurred by the covering up that she tried to do, are still pretty obvious.

Let me tell you a little story about when Hart was making the skin. When he was working on the hands, he got distracted for a moment and his stylus touched the template, leaving a dark mark on the lower right corner, because he was painting the shading on the hands. Now since it would not be visible on the skin, he decided not to bother and did not clean it up. Not that is surprises us, but this mark is clearly visible on the allegedly infringed material.

Another  minor detail, but still significant, is in the fingernail. In the first version of the skin that was out on SLX, it remained untouched, you could clearly see it was identical to the hand painted fingernails on our skin. In the second version there has been an attempt to touch it up, but you can still see that some other nail has been laid over the original, and honestly… is not a job well done.

Linda, our skin, has a faint birthmark on her lower right back. You can see it clearly in the photo of our own skin. But you can also still see it in the first skin that we found in world, that showed another person as the creator, on the exact same spot, and although demo is all written over the second skin, you can still see it.

Another, non sourceable, detail is the elbow, since Hart has handpainted the lines that show on our skin…. and that show on the other two as well, on exact the same spot, exactly the same lines, just further blurred. Now honestly, how big a chance that someone draws exactly the same lines in exact the same spot?

And last, but not least, there is the eye make-up. It has been made lighter, but I think it speaks for itself. The highlight on the upper eyelid, the lashes Hart has drawn, every detail from our make up, we find it back in the 2 other skins.

We have decided that this is the last post that we will write on this issue. It is frustrating, nauseating and it drains creativity to have to be busy with this all the time.  Besides, there are new additions to our skin range on their way and we want to focus on the good stuff, not on the bad stuff. Now that doesn’t mean we are just letting it be, but we just don’t feel like talking about it now. For now, we have stated our case pretty clearly I think.

And again, PXL Creations skins have one creator only, and that is Hart Larsson. They are only being sold in PXL Creation shops, currently at Peronaut, Monarch Bay and Alady Island. Should you ever find one that shows another creator, please contact us so that we can take the actions that we feel is necessary. Do not talk to the other person yourself, it may only antagonise them and make it harder for us to protect our product. Also, be extremely careful with what you buy from SLExchange. Business in a box and similar items are all to often illegally taken copies, made available to make a quick buck and all to often leaving naive new residents with a lot of trouble when it it is discovered that the items you try to sell in world are stolen.
